Individual Financial Therapy

Available virtually in North Carolina and South Carolina.

I help professional women and moms who struggle with financial stress and financial anxiety stop the spiral of guilt, shame, and fear they have around money.

Despite being intelligent, accomplished and competent in other areas of your life, you can’t seem to get a handle on your money issues. On the outside you seem to have it all together but inside you are struggling.

You feel discouraged because your money habits are keeping you from making the changes you want for your life.

You spend money on stuff to make yourself feel better in the moment but end up feeling guilty when the newness wears off.

You feel overwhelmed, discouraged, and hopeless when thinking about money and secretly wish someone would come along and take care of it for you.

You feel ashamed because you think you should be better with money.

You compare your financial situation to other people your age, or at least your perception of their financial situation, and feel like you don’t measure up.

You feel nervous about the idea of sharing your finances and feelings about money with anyone. You are worried about feeling judged.

Money shame runs deep! It makes you believe you aren’t good enough because of your salary, spending habits, or amount you have saved.

Most people were taught not to talk about money and believe if you aren’t “good with money” that it’s your own fault. It’s not your fault! The financial system wasn’t designed for women to have money or to know what to do with it.

It takes a lot of courage to be open about your money stuff.

Money issues impact and are impacted by other areas of life. If you are feeling stuck in how you are relating to money you might also be experiencing low self-confidence, difficulty in relationships, family conflict, and/or work-related stress.

If you want to feel good about your relationship with money within the context of your overall well-being, I’d love to help you get there!

Like most women, you were conditioned to believe you shouldn’t want money, (because that would make you greedy), and that women aren’t good at managing money.

You have been shamed into believing that the only way to achieve financial “freedom” and “peace” is through deprivation and rigidity. That your financial situation is the direct result of how hard you work without any consideration of the impact of the systemic barriers that limit your access to wealth.

You need a safe and supportive space to talk about your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs about money without being judged. I will sit with you as you face the reality of your financial situation with compassion and acceptance.

We will unpack the ways in which your family, friends, culture, etc. have contributed to the story you tell yourself about money and identify ways in which this story is playing out in your adult life.

You are the expert on yourself. I have education, training, and experience that help me know ways to guide you toward a healthier version of yourself and healthier relationship with money.

You don’t have to figure this out on your own. It is ok to talk about money.

I am here to help you.
